Sept 11 fund inclusiveness
Dear sir or madam:
My name is . I am currently a student at . Following september 11, I made a trek to NYC to help out in the cleanup efforts at ground zero. It was a scene I will never forget.
Fortunately, I did not have any friends or relatives in the disaster,
but I think all Americans were hurt, all Americans feel a great loss.
In this time of calamity and of courage, I ask the Justice department,
which has been hard at work protecting Americans from further tragedy,
to remember that family means a lot of things. Though this can at
certain times be controversial, at a time like this, controversy is
irrelevant in the matter of loved ones. We are Americans; we have that
privelige. As Americans we also have a sincere duty to bind the wounds
of the families directly touched by these evildoers. I ask the justice
department to treat fairly and equally same-sex partners in the matter
of dispensing relief funds. It is simply the right thing to do, as
Americans and as people of God to see these people get a fair shake
after such a terrible event.
Please consider my request, and feel free to contact me via e-mail,
should you wish to talk further.
The peace of God to you,
Individual Comment
