I really don't have any problem with how much these families get, the situation is so awful. I just wanted to respond to the following statement...

"The typical victim is a widow at home with two young children who's been out of the labor market for five years," said. "She's going to be lucky if she has $40,000 a year to spend. Yeah, she could sell the house and move into an apartment. She could put the kids in day care and get a job. Why should she have to do that in order to subsidize the airline industry?"

I wonder if people realize the the average military family in the same sitution "two kids, and the wife being out of the work force.."
gets HALF that amount to live on. Men and woman that have been in the military for years..get HALF that amount to live on.
